You and Your PMS need the Princess and The PMS!

I loved ‘The Princess and the PMS’ for many reasons. It is informative, but not technical. It makes sense and made me laugh. I could see myself (and many other females in my life!) and the advice for handling my PMS was approachable. I did not need to drastically change my life to put this plan into action. Although I am in my 30s (I wish someone would have given it to me in my teenage years), it made the whole topic of PMS more approachable and easier to discuss with friends and family because it has a flavor of humor with information and help. The other side of the book, ‘The Prince and the PMS,’ gave the men in my life an insiders view of what it was like to have PMS every month with some important survival tips in a funny, light weight manner. The layout and approach is built for all age groups and genders that are touched by PMS every month.

There seem to be a lot of very scholarly books out there (who’s got the time?) and on the flipside, there are some publications with outdated info for the layperson that focus on handling PMS in one way (whatever the author’s specialty is). I dig this book because it covers all the latest research, breaks everything down into manageable chapters on relationships, food, exercise, supplements, self-care, etc. AND it’s got a men’s side so they can get a clue about PMS. I’m not 100% convinced yet that this will help me cure a 20 year monthly ailment, but it’s the most sensible and humorous approach I’ve seen yet. Kudos to the various doctors and authors who put this together.
Help is Here Finally for Women and Men

The authors did a great job putting PMS in real life scenarios. It was easy to understand, informative and enjoyable to read. What is great about this book is one side is written for women and the flip side is written for men, but I read both sides and so did my husband. We can now relate to one another on what I go through with PMS and what HE goes through when it is that time of the month. It has definitely opened up the lines of communication between us during that time of the month. Another bonus to the book is it has charts to record women’s cycles and advice on what to eat and not to eat, supplements and exercises to help relieve some symptoms of PMS, and not let PMS take over your life. The authors did an awesome job in keeping the men’s attention about PMS with some humors anecdotes and real solutions to help the relationship. Overall, both my husband and I are so happy we found this book. I have even told other newly engaged couples about the help this book has to offer and they are eager to read it to help improve their lines of communications during the PMS time.
