For me I quit using tampons and that made a big difference the cramping and irritability were much less. I found that tampons only added to my discomfort so I found something called Winalite. It is a sanitary pad free of chemicals and synthetic materials. They have something unique called an anion strip embedded in every pad it is antibacterial and has numerous benefits. I recommend checking out the site it has great information and could be just what you are looking for.

Comment on Male PMS? by alphadominance

First off men can and do cope just as competently with whatever life has to throw at them as well as women, and if they had to deal with female style PMS, they would do no worse a job at it. Given depression statistics women probably have a harder time coping than men, but to be fair I'll leave it at equal competence.

That aside, men sometimes do suffer from a condition that has now been termed Male PMS or Irritable male syndrome, and this results from low testosterone levels, which cause the hormone estradiol to take precedence, causing many of the symptoms women exhibit during PMS. The difference is that rather than being cyclical, it results from behavior and social status. As our twisted culture continues to devalue and undermine male cultural roles and attributes, and fewer and fewer men have an arena of supremacy, be it the office, home, dojo or whatever, these hapless fellow's testosterone levels are suppressed. Stress further exacerbates this situation resulting in men who have been symbolically castrated by a culture that deems them worthless. If they don't have the wherewithal to engage in the behaviors that increase their testosterone levels, they will be subjected to a life of so called Male PMS.

Men need to have routine sex, and an arena in which they dominate to maintain testosterone levels. Sadly, so many have fallen for the feminist supposition that if they be nice sensitive unassuming men women will like them and they will be successful. We now have a whole generation of men raised by single mothers and daughters of the feminist revolution that have utterly misled their sons in what makes women happy, and makes men of them. Television and the media further perpetuate the stereotype of the man as helpless pudgy chump, not fit to diaper his child or prepare a meal, let alone earn a living. This is pure feminist claptrap. Today most men and women alike couldn't cook a meal if their lives depended on it. Both must typically work to support the most modest of lifestyles. Most women are no more competent than most men, and a recognition of the value of the male as well as the female, would help us balance and heal our society.

For men to be men, they need acknowledgement of their value as men. We need to accept that children do need fathers. Women do like manly men, rather than cowtowing wretches.

As males reconnect with their traditional roles, their bitchiness and "PMS" will recede naturally.

I have tried all these things for PMS and it seems that nothing really works that well. I can count on a migraine once a month with my cycle and would definatly say that is my worst complaint about PMS. The one thing I haven't tried is the foot massage for irritability and I surely will try it. I also think that if it works that my boyfriend would probably want to thank you personally!

I used to have hideous cramps until I discovered a remedy quite by accident. After struggling with rosacea for many years, I read that Borage oil has anti-inflammatory properties and can decrease the facial redness associated with rosacea. When I went to the health food store to buy some, the clerk thought I wanted it for menstrual cramps. It turned out that the Borage oil helped both problems. I don't even need to take ibuprofen for the cramps anymore.

My mother-in-law did a lot of research about PMS at won point in her life. She claims to have found that chocolate, specifically chocolate milk, was very good at combatting the symptoms of PMS. Far be it for me to argue with an excuse to include chocolate in my diet, I tried it. Unfortunately, I'm lactose intolerant, but I found that Silk (soy milk) in chocolate flavor did actually improve my moodiness and a bit of the run-down feeling. I don't know how real or scientific it is, but it works for me!

This is an excellent idea for dealing with PMS cramps. Not only is it helpful on its own, but it can also help get us in "the mood" for some play time with our men - they're sure to enjoy that as a break in between dealing with our mood swings.

Oh my goodness, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. I think I left scratch marks on my brother the last time I found out he took my last bar of chocolate. I was fuming and craving! A horrible sensation. But one that is amusing nevertheless. Ah the weird things PMS do to our bodies.
